Moonlight Amphitheatre Announces its Spring and Summer Presents Lineup

Vista, CA (March 7, 2022) – Get ready to rock as Vista’s Moonlight Amphitheatre announces its concert lineup with an expansion of summer offerings as part of a mini festival entitled Moonlight Summer Jam. The Jam enhances The Moonlight’s already jam-packed season of Broadway musical theatre which is also expanding from four shows to five for the first time in its history. Tickets for Moonlight Presents concerts will go on sale Mon., March 14 at noon online at moonlightstage.com, by phone at (760) 724-2110, and in-person at VisTix, 200 Civic Center Dr., Vista. Customer service hours are noon to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. Tickets for subscribers go on sale on Mon., March 7 by phone and in-person only during the same hours.

Colleen Kollar Smith, Executive Producer of The Moonlight, comments, “Since we introduced the presenting series in 2016, we have watched the number of concert patrons grow alongside our loyal summer season audience. By expanding the number of concerts in the summer on the off-nights we don’t have a Broadway show in performance, we’re offering more concert-going opportunities for the region. There’s a little something for everyone in the presents lineup and we’re excited for our first Moonlight Summer Jam!”

The Moonlight Presents lineup kicks off in April with two concerts, the Troubadours: The Music of Carole King & James Taylor on April 22 and Stayin’ Alive – The Bee Gees Tribute on April 23. In June, the Moonlight Summer Jam opens with The Official Blues Brothers Revue starring Wayne Catania and Kieron Lafferty on June 28. ABBA-MANIA returns to The Moonlight on June 29 musically saluting the top-of-the charts Swedish pop band. The wildly popular Queen Nation, which carries on the torch of the golden age of Queen concerts, makes a stop on July 1. The Moonlight will produce a concert of headlining San Diego musical artists to be announced entitled Summer of Soul on July 2 which pays homage to the musical acts in the streaming documentary about the Harlem Culture Festival. Classic Albums Live, performing iconic rock albums in their entirety live, appears on July 6 with Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon and on July 7 with the Eagles Greatest Hits. The “titans of soft rock,” Yächtley Crëw, which jam packed The Moonlight last summer, returns for another concert benefiting the Moonlight Cultural Foundation on July 8. Bringing Moonlight Summer Jam to a conclusion is the British Invasion Years playing the greatest hits of the 60s by British and American bands concluding with a Beatles tribute.

ABOUT MOONLIGHT PRESENTS
In its eighth year, Moonlight Presents offers national touring musical acts and San Diego based artists in concert at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Concerts are presented year-round with the 2022 lineup being the most offered. Concerts are presented in the bucolic setting of the City of Vista’s Moonlight Amphitheatre, an 1800-person capacity state of the art outdoor venue. During the summer, The Moonlight is also home to the award-winning Moonlight Stage Productions offering a professional Broadway musical theatre season of five musicals May through October. The Moonlight’s and the City’s non-profit fundraising partner, the Moonlight Cultural Foundation, supports amphitheatre programming through individual donations and corporate sponsorships in addition to overseeing Moonlight Youth Theatre. For 2022, The Moonlight’s visionary sponsor is Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps. The theatre and concert-going experience at The Moonlight is unique due to its invitation for patrons to bring picnic suppers inside the gates to enjoy from one of the theatre’s terrace lawns or on the great lawn at the rear of the amphitheatre. Food and beverages are also available from the theatre’s concessionaire, San Diego’s popular Bread and Cheese Eatery.
