VISTA, CA (August 22, 2025) – Moonlight Stage Productions’ 44th season closes with the third regional premiere of the summer, Stephen Schwartz and Philip LaZebnik’s The Prince of Egypt.
Based on the Book of Exodus with songs from the DreamWorks Animation 1998 film of the same name, The Prince of Egypt will transport audiences to Ancient Egypt. Moses and his brother Ramses are raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege until they find
themselves suddenly divided by a secret. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other exiled, finally returning to his home and fighting to free his people from the bonds of slavery. From the plagues of Egypt to parting the red seas, this is an inspiring tale of resilience and hope.
“I’ve been following The Prince of Egypt’s production journey for many years and was excited about the announcement of the West End opening. Unfortunately, it had to close for about a year during the COVID-19 pandemic and fewer people got to see it than anyone would have hoped. We are so excited to bring this epic regional premiere to San Diego! For fans of the movie and musical theatre lovers alike, it’s going to be an incredible show.”

Stephen Schwartz’s award-winning score includes ‘Through Heavens Eyes,’ ‘Deliver Us,’ and
