Mother Earth Brew Company Returns to Vista

By TR Robertson
There were a lot of happy people at 2055 Thibodo Rd., Suite E, on Saturday, January 28th, taking part in a soft opening for the return of Mother Earth Brew Company to the City of Vista. Mother Earth Brew Co. closed their Downtown Historic Vista location in 2020, eventually settling in Idaho. Along with their newest location in Vista, Mother Earth also has a location in Nampa, Idaho, and a Boise Tap House as well. Their popularity in Downtown Vista at their former Main St. location obviously continues if the large crowd on Saturday at the new location is any indication. One unique feature at their new location will soon include the opening of Lost Abbey Brewing Company as a shared tenant. Lost Abbey was not pouring at the soft opening for Mother Earth as they are still waiting for clearance of their ABC license which is soon to be completed.

Mother Earth Brew Co. was founded in 2010 by Daniel and Jon Love and Kamron Khannakhjavani. The Vista location on Main St. was their original location. Their beer is sold in 20 states and in the United Kingdom, Australia and Mexico. The new location on Thibodo Road is kid and dog friendly, offers cans and growlers for sale, BYO food allowed and on Saturdays there will be Food Trucks. Mother Earth will pour from 14 taps and also offer several non-alcoholic options. Lost Abbey plans on offering 18 beer taps.

Selections to choose from on the Mother Earth board include the popular Cali Creamin’ Vanilla Cream Ale, Cali Peaches & Cream Peach Vanilla Cream Ale, Cali Creamsicle Orange Ale, Tierra Madre Lager, Heavy Cloud Hazy IPA, Boo Koo India Pale Ale and Milk Truck Latte Stout. Several of these have a Nitro version. Some of their newer beers also on tap include Urban Solace Hazy IPA, Fantasia Hazy IPA, Four Seasons Autumn ’23, and Cocktail Inspired Imperial Stout. Several other newer beers will rotate through as well.

There is plenty of seating and tables in the new location and those entering will quickly notice the three large Lost Abbey wooden brewing units lining one wall. Hanging on the wall are large versions of Mother Earth artistic designs pictured on their beer cans. Many of these designs were made by Ecuadorian artist Gabo Zeta in what he referred to as “lowbrow” style. A large Mother Earth mural is painted in one corner and hanging above the long wooden bar is the listing for the various beers that are offered. Several T.V.’s with various sporting events were on and on opening day guitarist Mikey Reyes was playing guitar entertaining people sitting near the bar.

The current hours are Tuesday through Thursday 3 pm-8 pm, Friday 2 pm-8 pm, Saturday 12 pm-8 pm and Sunday 12 pm-6 pm. They are closed on Mondays. The phone number is 760-295-3074. To check out more information on the various beers Mother Earth offers go to www.motherearthbrewco.com .
