A fatal collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in San Marcos is under investigation.
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 5:26 p.m., deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a traffic collision in the 2300 block of Montiel Road.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the collision involved a white Nissan Altima sedan and a Kawasaki ZX-10R motorcycle. The 23-year-old male motorcyclist was found unresponsive in the westbound lane of Montiel Road. Deputies and paramedics provided life-saving measures at the scene; however, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at 5:52 p.m.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
