Oceanside, CA – On Friday, November 14, 2021, at approximately 0718 am, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a single vehicle collision at the 4500 block of North Ave. The vehicle occupied by its male driver and a male passenger drove across all lanes of traffic and up the south embankment into a tree. Both occupants sustained severe injuries.
The driver, Oceanside resident 27 y/o Edgar Soto succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.
The passenger has not yet been identified and is being medically treated for his injuries.
Family of Soto has been notified.
The collision is being investigated on suspicion of driving under the influence.
