Nat Geo Selects OHS Teacher for Antarctic Expedition

Oceanside High School teacher, Justin Moodie, has recently returned from an expedition to Antarctica sponsored by National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions as part of the Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship program. Moodie is one of only a few teachers selected in the country for this professional learning experience. This unique opportunity has provided Moodie with invaluable professional learning experiences and the chance to contribute content to National Geographic. Moodie is a Career Technical Education photography teacher. The program gives a select few educators a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel with National Geographic researchers and bring their experiences back to their classrooms. “Without a doubt, it was the opportunity of a lifetime and the most extraordinary way to be immersed in professional learning,” says Moodie. “I’ve been sharing the experiences with students and staff alike and modeling the lifelong learning process in my classroom.”
