National Day of Prayer was Observed at Vista’s Flag Pavilion

Vista, CA – May 4, 2024 – The 73rd Annual National Day of Prayer was observed with reverence and unity on May 2, 2024, at the Memorial Flagpole located on the intersection of S. Citrus and E. Broadway in Downtown Vista. Organized by a coalition of local churches and community leaders, this year’s event gathered approximately 150+ attendees under the theme “Lift up the Word, Lift up the World.”

The evening commenced with a Worship session by Restore Church at 5:40 PM, setting the tone for the proceedings. Pastor Frank Keeler from Lifeway Baptist Church welcomed participants with an Opening Prayer and read a Proclamation from the City of Vista, officially recognizing

May 2, 2024, as the National Day of Prayer in the city of Vista.

The Presentation of Colors and Pledge of Allegiance were led by Vista High School Air Force JROTC followed by a moving rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” performed by Ben Williams & Noelle Marie Kerr from Lighthouse Players.

Throughout the event, prayers were offered for various areas of society, such as, Our Government, First Responders & Military, Community & Culture, and Churches & Spiritual Awakening. This included specifically praying in unity for the City of Vista, families, business community, and the homeless population. Local churches led worship sessions, underscoring the significance of collective faith in fostering community resilience.
