Urban Corps of San Diego County is pleased to announce the opening of its new North County e-waste recycling location at 2200 Micro Place in Escondido. Residents and businesses can drop off e-waste free of charge for recycling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Businesses with a large quantity of e-waste may schedule a free pick-up. “Urban Corps is excited to expand our e-waste recycling services to the North County,” said Kyle Kennedy, CEO of Urban Corps of San Diego County. “With cell phones, chargers and laptops, almost everyone generates some kind of e-waste. Our new location in Escondido gives North County residents and businesses a free and easy way to properly dispose of these items.”
Urban Corps is an authorized e-waste collector through CalRecycle and offers free e-waste recycling services through funding from the California Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003.

Urban Corps is a certified local conservation corps whose mission is to provide young adults with the tools to expand their career opportunities through education, life skills training and paid work experience on projects that benefit the community.
Corpsmembers work and receive job training four days a week on community projects such as tree planting, habitat restoration, graffiti removal, recycling, construction and landscaping and attend school one day a week at Urban Corps Charter School – an onsite WASC-accredited charter high school to earn their diploma. With their participation, Corpsmembers receive a paycheck and additional services through our Corpsmember Development Department that help them prepare for their future including career counseling, specialized job skills training, driver’s education and one-on-one assistance with resumes, job and college applications and job placement.
