The California Coastal Commission approved the addition of one new High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction of I-5 from north of Palomar Airport Road to north of the Cassidy Street over crossing. New signage, landscaping and lighting are also planned. The North Coast Corridor plan, submitted jointly by Caltrans and SANDAG, is expected to begin in Fall 2020 and be complete in 2022.
