Beginning on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. there will be partial lane closures on eastbound and westbound San Marcos Boulevard to allow crews to finish undergrounding new fiber optic traffic conduits. Crews will simultaneously work on removing the crosswalk and pavers at north Via Vera Cruz. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Drivers can expect traffic delays and the city encourages drivers to use alternate routes, if possible, when near the working area.

Once the cable splicing is complete, AT&T will finish removing their communication poles which will then allow the Creek project team to finish the Via Vera Cruz bridge and reopen the road.

Discovery Street

This week, Creek construction crews will be grading and leveling the south end of Discovery Street. This will prep the road for upcoming paving work.

We encourage you to reach out to the Creek project team if you have any questions by phone at 877-SMCREEK or 877-762-7335 or by email at creek@san-marcos.net.

The San Marcos Creek Project is a 214-acre project adjacent to the San Marcos Creek, generally bounded by:

The Creek Project will add the needed infrastructure to reduce long-standing flooding issues and improve traffic circulation while revitalizing and preserving the San Marcos Creek. The project will minimize flooding risks, preserve and enhance the creek habitat, and build a new park and trails. Learn more about the project on our website, www.san-marcos.net/creek.
