ArtWalk! Explore ArtWalk Carlsbad 2026 beginning at 11 a.m. on Sept. 19 along Armada Dr. This outdoor arts festival features visual artists, live music, family-friendly activities and opportunities to meet creators while enjoying one of North County’s signature arts events.
Fashion! Attend the Fall Fashion Show at Gazelle Fashion & Style from 4-6 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Gazelle Fashion & Style, 2829 Roosevelt St. Guests can walk the red carpet, enjoy appetizers and champagne, enter raffles and get a first look at the boutique’s newest fall arrivals. Yummy! Enjoy the Taste of Encinitas from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at 818 S Coast Highway 101. This community event showcases local restaurants and businesses, giving attendees an opportunity to sample food and beverages while exploring downtown Encinitas.

Cult classic! Experience “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” with live shadow cast Crazed Imaginations at 10:30 p.m. at La Paloma Theatre, 471 S Coast Highway 101. This interactive screening combines the cult classic film with live performers for a unique late-night theater experience.

Music school! Celebrate the North County Music Academy grand opening Celebration from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at 282 N El Camino Real, Ste. C. Formerly operating as Bach 2 Rock, the school is now independently owned and operated under the new North County Music Academy name. The free community event offers an opportunity for families, students and music lovers to tour the new studio, meet instructors and learn about music education programs. The academy is located in the shopping center with HomeGoods and Naked Café.
Live music! Experience the Courtyard Rhythms: Live Music Series from 5-8 p.m. at 937 S. Coast Highway 101. This free community music event brings live entertainment to downtown Encinitas and offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy the coastal atmosphere while exploring nearby shops, restaurants and local businesses.

Woodwinds! Enjoy Courtyard Rhythms featuring Spirit Winds from 5-8 p.m. on Sept. 4 and Sept. 5 at the Courtyard at Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane, 1775 Dove Lane. Spirit Winds performs as part of the city’s free Courtyard Rhythms outdoor concert series, offering an evening of live music in a relaxed outdoor setting. Jazz! Enjoy Courtyard Rhythms featuring Doctors and Drifters Jazz and The Soto 6 from 5-8 p.m. on Sept. 11 and Sept. 12 at the Courtyard at Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane, 1775 Dove Lane. Meet the candidates! Attend the 2026 Encinitas District 3 Council Member Election Forum at 6 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Ada W. Harris Elementary School Auditorium, 1508 Windsor Rd. Hosted by the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Town Council Committee of Cardiff 101 Main Street, the forum features District 3 candidates Arielle Golden and Ed Sprague. Mayoral candidates! Attend the 2026 Encinitas Mayoral Election Forum at 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Ada W. Harris Elementary School Auditorium, 1508 Windsor Rd. Hosted by the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Town Council Committee of Cardiff 101 Main Street, the forum features mayoral candidates Bruce Ehlers and Rimga Viskanta. Recital! Enjoy an afternoon of classical keyboard music at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 341 S. Kalmia St. Bradley Pettit will perform Baroque harpsichord selections by J.S. Harvest moon paddle! Join the Moonlight Paddle from 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 26 at 1400 N Harbor Dr. Participants will receive a brief skills session before launching kayaks at sunset for a guided two-hour paddle through Oceanside Harbor under the Harvest full moon. Headlamps and standard kayaking equipment are provided.
Yummy! Experience the Taste of Oceanside from 1:30-5 p.m. on Oct. 3 throughout Downtown Oceanside. The event features approximately 70 food and beverage tasting locations, live entertainment, local artists and a self-guided walking tour of the downtown district. Movie night! Enjoy Free Movies in the Park featuring GOAT (PG) beginning at sunset on Sept. 11 at Las Posas Park, 1387 W. Borden Rd. Ride Vista! Participate in Cyclovia Vista from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Broadway & Citrus Parking Lot. The free family-friendly event closes selected downtown streets to vehicles and welcomes cyclists, walkers and other self-powered transportation users for a day celebrating sustainability, clean air and active transportation.
Build a scarecrow! Participate in the Fall Fun Festival scarecrow contest at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens, 1270 Vale Terrace Dr. Scarecrow builders can attend Scarecrow Supply Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Oct. 3 to pick up materials and then deliver completed entries before noon on Oct. 10. Contest entries will be displayed during the Fall Fun Festival, with submissions closing at noon on festival day.
Fall family! Enjoy the 2026 Fall Fun Festival from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Oct. 10 at Alta Vista Botanical Gardens, 1270 Vale Terrace Dr. The family-friendly festival features vendors, seasonal activities, garden exploration and community fun throughout the day. Guests can also view entries in the festival’s scarecrow contest and enjoy the autumn atmosphere in one of Vista’s most unique outdoor venues.
Farmer’s Markets
The Grand Farmers Market runs from 2:30-7 p.m. every Tuesday on Juniper Street between Grand Avenue and Valley Parkway at Heritage Park. The market has a great selection of produce and meats with a variety of vendors.
The State Street Farmer’s Market in Carlsbad is every Wednesday from 2:30-7 p.m. on State Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue. This lively market features amazing produce, organic eats, locally prepared food, live entertainment and an all-around good vibe.
The Oceanside Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Sunset Market every Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the corner of Pier View Way and Coast Highway. The popular market provides a delicious display of local produce, meats, flowers and nursery items!
The open-air San Marcos Farmer’s Market is year-round and is held every Friday from 4-8 p.m. at 251 N. City Dr. off Twin Oaks Valley Road and across from Cal-State San Marcos.
The Vista Farmer’s Market is the county’s longest running market and is every Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon, rain or shine at the San Diego County Courthouse, 345 S. Melrose Dr.
The Cardiff Farmer’s Market at Mira Costa College, 3333 Manchester Ave., runs every Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and features numerous international food vendors, food and plant vendors plus much more!
The Del Mar Farmer’s Market is the second oldest in the region and is every Saturday from noon–4 p.m. on the lower outdoor parking lot at the Del Mar Civic Center, 1050 Camino Del Mar. This certified, non-profit market brings to the community a variety of fresh local produce, seafood, fresh coffee, locally prepared international specialty foods to enjoy on-site or to take home, artisan creations, and live music.
The Leucadia Farmer’s Market is every Sunday (except Easter) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at at Oak Crest Middle School, 675 Balour Dr. The market has a great collection of more than 30 certified growers, 10 certified organic and more than 70 total vendors.
The Bonsall Farmer’s Market and Open Air Faire runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Sunday at Bonsall Elementary School, 31555 Old River Rd. The market highlights fresh garden-to-table locally grown fruits, veggies, hormone-free meat, local artisan cheese and much more.
