Now Recruiting for the 2018 Senior Volunteer Patrol Academy

CARLSBAD, Calif.—The City of Carlsbad Police Department is actively recruiting participants for the next Senior Volunteer Patrol Academy. The academy is scheduled for late summer of 2018.

To begin, volunteer patrol members attend a 95-hour academy followed by 60 hours of “on the job training.” During the academy participants receive training in traffic control, safety, first aid and CPR, ethics, radio communications, traffic citations, crime prevention and hands-on driving safety. After training, each patrol member contributes a minimum of 28 hours per month.
