Oceanside, CA – On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at approximately 1919 hours, the Oceanside Police Department responded to a call of a collision between a bicyclist and a vehicle at State Route 76 and Benet Rd. Medical and police personnel arrived to find the unidentified female bicyclist unresponsive. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed the collision occurred when the bicyclist was crossing State Route 76 at Benet Rd. northbound against a red light into the path of a vehicle traveling westbound State Route 76 on a green light. The vehicle pulled over immediately following the collision. Neither Alcohol or speed was a factor in this collision.
