(Oceanside, CA) – The Oceanside Chamber’s Communications Coordinator, Hana Gilbert, has been selected as one of the 2021 W.A.C.E. Academy scholarship recipients. Presented by the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.), the Academy will take place August 8th-12th in Sacramento, CA. Gilbert is one of only 20 chamber professionals in the West to receive this grant. Hundreds of other chamber professionals have registered for the annual, three-day conference.
Oceanside Chamber CEO, Scott Ashton, graduated from W.A.C.E.’s three-year program back in 2020. Regarding Gilbert’s W.A.C.E. scholarship selection, Ashton said, “It has been very exciting to see Hana’s growth in her role at the Chamber over the past few years. I am confident that The Academy program will give her additional tools to excel in this industry for years to come.” This is the first year Gilbert will be attending the annual conference. The W.A.C.E Academy is a three-day, three-year developmental program designed to educate and advance the skills necessary to succeed within the chamber industry. W.A.C.E. has become one of the most resourceful assets for chambers and the annual conference is essential to advance the management skills amongst chamber professionals.
