Oceanside Chamber Foundation Awards $34,500 in Scholarships to Oceanside Students

On May 30th, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce awarded a total of $34,500 in scholarships to 17 students from 5 Oceanside High Schools including Oceanside High School, El Camino High School, Surfside Educational Academy, Coastal Academy, and Pacific View Charter School. The scholarship recipients were all students that had been recognized throughout the school year as part of the Chamber’s Rising Star Student of the Month program.

The Rising Star Program aims to champion students that have overcome significant challenges in their lives while managing to keep on track with their education. The Chamber honors one high school senior each month from each of our area high schools at a breakfast event. The students are each given the opportunity to share their stories of resilience and persistence and will be invited to apply for scholarships through the Oceanside Chamber Foundation.

Scholarships were made possible through the generous donations of Genentech, Tri-City Medical Center, Frontwave Credit Union, California State University San Marcos, CrossCountry Mortgage, UEI College and PEO.

This Chamber has already begun efforts to replenish the scholarship fund for the 2023-24 school year. Businesses or individuals interested in supporting the program can visit www.RisingStarOceanside.com or call Scott Ashton at 760-722-1534 for more details.
