As we travel through the evolving landscape of COVID-19 challenges together, we want to thank the Oceanside community for all you are doing to prevent the spread of coronavirus by staying home except for essential needs. Remember, if you leave your place, cover your face, and maintain space. Oceanside’s confirmed cases continue to be among the lowest countywide, per capita. All the steps you are taking are working to “flatten the curve.”

LOOSENING OF REGULATIONS

The San Diego County Public Health Officer has indicated that Governor Newsom will act on relaxing regulations before the County can act, and things will reopen gradually. Countywide groups are working together so that the loosening of restrictions will be consistent in our region. The Governor listed the six critical indicators public health officials will be looking at when considering when to relax some of the current restrictions.

The City of Oceanside’s COVID-19 Recovery Team started work almost immediately after this health crisis began. The group is looking at ways to boost vital sectors of our community, along with social recovery and City finance stabilization. Their work will focus on ways to safely and strategically transition from disaster response to economic recovery.
