Due to Measure X funding, the City has never been more poised to respond to a pandemic like COVID-19. With Measure X revenue, the City enhanced its Emergency Service Delivery Model in September 2019. EMTs were instated to provide two Basic Life Support ambulance teams to supplement the City’s current Advanced Life Support ambulances. An additional ambulance was also purchased. This reduces response times and reshapes emergency service delivery to optimize the medical aid that residents receive.
The coming Beachfront Improvement Project, supplemented by a State grant and Measure X funds, is scheduled to break ground April 6. Construction is identified as a critical industry, so this project is continuing during the COVID-19 emergency.
