Oceanside Museum of Art Kicks off 25th Anniversary with an Evening Under the Stars at The Seabird Resort

SAN DIEGO (February 8, 2022) – Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA), North County’s premier art destination, is kicking off its 25th anniversary celebrations with an evening under the stars at The Seabird Resort on Saturday, February 26 from 8:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Located in Oceanside’s Cultural District, the evening will feature a delicious display of dessert selections, live entertainment, visual art projections, and more! Proceeds raised from the gala will benefit OMA’s ongoing education initiatives, community programming, and help support their mission to celebrate art and share it with the community.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating 25 years this year and there is no better way to start the year than with an in-person gala at one of Oceanside’s newest oceanfront properties,” says Maria Mingalone, Executive Director of Oceanside Museum of Art. “Oceanside Museum of Art prides itself on showcasing some of the best artwork from artists throughout Southern California. We are excited for the community to join us for a journey through OMA’s history highlighting some of the best work throughout the years both during the gala and throughout 2022.”

The evening will feature an immersive experience of dessert selections created in collaboration with Chef Roberto Alcocer of Valle, a restaurant that celebrates the cuisine of Mexico’s wine region in the Guadalupe Valley, and Chef Kurtis Habecker of the art-forward Piper, a garden-to-table classic California cuisine restaurant that celebrates the bounty of locally sourced produce, fish, and more. The delectable display will include Spicy Mayan Chocolate Roulade; Dark, Milk and White Chocolate Barks; Lemon Bars; Coffee Diplomate and Dutch Crunch Profiterole; Citrus Meringue Nest; and Local Fruit Tart. Attendees will also enjoy atmospheric light projections by light show extraordinaire Joe Wheaton and will dance the night away with live music along with a full cash bar featuring a signature cocktail crafted just for the occasion. The Twilight tickets for the evening are $60 and can be purchased here.

This event not only celebrates OMA’s impact over the last 25 years, but also its robust partnership with The Seabird Resort and Mission Pacific Hotel. The Seabird Resort is also home to OMA West, a satellite gallery currently hosting Pacific Views, an exhibition featuring selections from OMA’s permanent collection that celebrates the natural environments found in the open air along the Pacific coast. Guests are encouraged to explore each hotel’s unique art collections. This unique partnership furthers OMA’s mission to bring people together to explore the art and stories of Southern California artists.

A weekend filled with arts and culture in Oceanside, the gala takes place during the closing weekend of the Oceanside International Film Festival. The Twilight portion of Oceanside Museum of Art’s 25th Anniversary Gala will take place on Saturday, February 26 from 8:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. at The Seabird Resort.
