After 36 years in law enforcement, Oceanside Police Chief McCoy announced that he plans to retire. McCoy has served as Oceanside’s Police Chief since 2006 and is the longest serving Police Chief in the history of the department.
The City of Oceanside developed a community survey in order to gather input on his replacement. The survey was released on September 10, 2020, was available in English and Spanish, and hard copies were made available. The community survey closed on October 5, 2020.
