The Oceanside Public Works Department will be hosting the 2nd public workshop via Zoom on June 30 at 6:00 p.m. to share the final results of the beach sand replenishment and retention feasibility study. The purpose of the study is to find a solution to protect City beaches from the impacts of long-term shoreline erosion. The study includes preliminary engineering evaluations to consider options to stabilize and enhance the beach widths in the City. Six preliminary concepts were developed: 3 replenishment options and 3 retention options. The goal is to identify a strategy that is environmentally sensitive, financially feasible, and has a reasonable chance of being approved through the regulatory permitting process.
