OCEANSIDE, Calif. (August 12, 2026) — Fifteen years after its founding, Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) is celebrating its evolution from a theater company into a growing cultural arts center for the arts in downtown Oceanside.

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 5-8 p.m., OTC will host The Ruby Revelry, a reimagined anniversary celebration and annual fundraiser at the historic Sunshine Brooks Theater (217 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA). The evening will celebrate the artists, audiences, students, volunteers, and community supporters who have shaped OTC over the past fifteen years — while raising support for an ambitious next chapter of professional theater and expanded arts programming.

This summer alone, OTC welcomed more than sixty young artists through its Youth Academy camps, with nearly one in every three students receiving scholarship assistance. Support from The Ruby Revelry helps sustain programs like these while supporting the organization’s year-round productions and community initiatives.

The event offers a fresh take on OTC’s annual fundraising celebration. Inspired by the spirit of a housewarming, the evening features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and interactive fundraising experiences that celebrate the organization’s next chapter while inviting the community to invest in its future.

This year’s celebration will also honor Alyssa “Ajay” and Toni Junious, founders of Soultry Sisters, with the Hattie “Sunshine” Brooks award for their outstanding commitment to strengthening community through arts, culture, wellness, and connection. Through Soultry Sisters, the Junious sisters have become recognized community leaders dedicated to creating spaces where creativity, wellness, and belonging intersect — values that closely align with Oceanside Theatre Company’s mission of building community through the arts. Their connection to OTC also extends to the stage, with Ajay having choreographed several OTC productions, including Once on This Island, Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, and Next to Normal.

Proceeds from The Ruby Revelry will directly support Oceanside Theatre Company’s annual operations and education programs, helping sustain professional productions, youth theatre education, apprenticeship opportunities, community engagement initiatives, and the day-to-day resources that make live theatre possible in Oceanside.

“Fifteen years of OTC represents more than just an anniversary of a company – it represents a legacy built by artists, educators, volunteers, patrons, students and community members who believe in the power of live theatre,” said Producing Artistic Director Kevin “Blax” Burroughs. “A ruby symbolizes love, passion, vitality and strength while a revelry is a joyous or festive activity. Combining these two entities speaks truth to everyone at OTC and how overjoyed we are to celebrate the work we’ve done all these years. Having this event with our community and supporting OTC inside of our actual theatre is truly something special.”

“Every gift made during the event helps provide the resources needed to continue producing inspiring theatre, supporting emerging artists, expanding access to arts education, and creating meaningful experiences for our community,” shared Director of Operations Michelle Jimmink. “When our community invests in Oceanside Theatre Company, they are investing in the next generation of artists and audiences, and in opportunities for people of all ages to learn, create, and come together through the arts.”

Inspired by the tradition of bringing a gift to celebrate a new home, The Ruby Revelry’s playful housewarming theme reflects Oceanside Theatre Company’s next chapter following Phase 1 of the Brooks Theater Revitalization. While the theater provides the backdrop, the evening’s fundraising efforts will support OTC’s mission through a curated silent auction, exclusive live experiences, and a Housewarming Giving Wall featuring tangible operational and educational needs.
