Oceanside, CA: The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce is proud to host Operation Appreciation on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 11:00 am to 4:00pm. Operation Appreciation is an opportunity to say “thank you” to local military and their families for their service to our country. Active-Duty Military from MCB Camp Pendleton and other local military bases are invited to enjoy live entertainment, free food and a Fun Zone for their children. (Please bring your military ID)
The event will be held in a street fair setting on Pier View Way just east of North Coast Highway. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 11:00am with a Marine Corps Color Guard presenting colors. Food service for the Active Duty Military and dependents will begin shortly thereafter with food from Buffalo Wild Wings, Pick Up Stix, Domino’s and San Luis Rey Bakery. Beverages will be supplied by Frazier Farms and Grocery Outlet Mission-Oceanside.
“It is an honor for the Chamber to host this one-of-a-kind event each year for our military. They are such an important part of the fabric of our community and we a grateful for this annual opportunity to thank them for their sacrifices and dedication,” remarked Scott Ashton, Chamber CEO. “Without the support of our local businesses, including our presenting sponsors Frontwave Credit Union, Walmart and Genentech, we would not able to hold Operation Appreciation each year. We truly appreciate everyone that plays a role in this important event.”
Col. Daniel Whitley, Commanding Officer of Headquarters and Support Battalion of MCI West MCB Camp Pendleton provided a statement saying, “Camp Pendleton is proud to maintain a long-standing positive relationship with our neighbor to the south, the City of Oceanside. Please come join us on 21 August as we recognize the mutually supporting relationship between the local community and our military families.” Live entertainment will be provided by the Kenny Marquez Band who will play crowd favorites from classic rock and blues to hit songs from all decades. A free trolley sponsored by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department will offer rides directly to the event from the SALT parking structure on North Cleveland Street and the Transit parking garage (Cleveland and Seagaze Streets).
Operation Appreciation is presented by Frontwave Credit Union, Genentech, and Walmart and a host of other generous sponsors. The Fun Zone is presented by JP Morgan Chase, Oceanside Therapy Group and 8-2-8 Urgent Care.
