“We’re excited to be able to partner with Neighborhood Healthcare to promote the health and safety of our Palomar College community, and the general public by providing a convenient opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Interim Superintendent/Vice President Dr. Jack Kahn.
During the event, vaccines will be administered by Neighborhood Healthcare, a private, nonprofit community health organization with 16 locations in the counties of San Diego and Riverside. “We are proud to offer county residents 18 years and older the ability to receive proven protection against this challenging virus free of charge. The Palomar College Escondido Education Center provides plenty of parking, air conditioning and wireless internet access. We’re looking forward to helping San Diego County residents get vaccinated against COVID-19 and keep our communities healthy,” said Rakesh Patel, MD, CEO of Neighborhood Healthcare.
Also participating in the distribution will be nine students from Palomar’s Nursing Education Department, which has partnered with several previous COVID-19 vaccination efforts to provide clinical hours to nursing students.
