For quite a few years, the Village and other parts of Carlsbad have had three-hour parking limit signs posted. However, for as many years the rules have not been regularly enforced. Now in an effort to help foster turnover rates in key shopping, dining, and commerce areas, starting June 25th, the municipal code will be upheld and parking will begin to be enforced. Regular shoppers and diners would like more access to the businesses they love and one way is to have nearby on-street parking available for them. By asking those with long-term parking needs to use any of the public parking lots in the Village, or where time limits are not posted, street parking where three-hour time limits are posted should be more accessible to customers throughout the day who need quick access the most.
