A fatal collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in San Marcos is under investigation.
On Friday, February 6, 2026, at about 7:50 p.m., deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a collision in the 1100 block of W. Mission Road.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that a collision had occurred between a black Honda Odyssey minivan and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was found in the westbound lanes of W. San Marcos Boulevard.
Deputies and paramedics provided life-saving measures at the scene; however, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at 8:15 p.m.
The driver of the minivan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. At this point, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor in the collision.
