The detour on S. Santa Fe Avenue has been changed: southbound vehicles are no longer detoured to Mercantile and are now allowed to travel through the newly constructed west side of the road as of August 10. Northbound vehicles must use one of two detours that route motorists around the project area, detailed below.

Crews will be completing construction of the third roundabout at Pala Vista Drive in the next two months. The construction of the entire project is expected to be completed in winter 2020/21.

Northbound vehicles are no longer allowed to travel through the project area between Civic Center Drive and Guajome. Vehicles must use one of two detours that route motorists around the project area.

Vehicles traveling north on South Santa Fe will need to make a left on Civic Center and a right on Pala Vista Drive to get to S. Santa Fe.

Motorists not accessing businesses south of Guajome are still being directed to the existing detour which travels through the area to Mercantile.

Businesses will remain open and entry access will be maintained.

Every effort will be made to minimize the traffic impacts associated with construction.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we improve the downtown core.

Phase II Completed: May 2020
The second phase of the Paseo Santa Fe improvements from Oceanview Drive to Terrace Drive was substantially completed in May. Final road paving and street amenities will be installed during Phase III. An artwork sculpture will be installed in the roundabout at Guajome Street and Terrace Drive in the next few weeks.
