The newest business to open in Downtown Historic Vista is run by a Vista local and graduate of Vista High School, Traci Lawson. Tracy and husband David have taken what was a former small gym business, made a series of modifications to the facility and now are proud owners of Public Lemon. Public Lemon is filled with a multitude of unique, eclectic, and clever gift items and I guarantee you will find the perfect Father’s Day gift for old dad.
Traci is the former owner of Apothecary Off Main. She has been in the retail store business since 2013 and closed this shop in 2018 to concentrated on developing her varied line of men’s grooming products, now sold at Public Lemon. She also owned an Apothecary store in Grand Rapids, Michigan, run by a friend, but closed this store down in March of this year. She and David decided to open Public Lemon and to offer items the public would like. Lemon refers to the fact that the store is in the small strip shopping center on Citrus Avenue in Downtown Historic Vista.
Public Lemon is open 7 days a week – Sunday thru Thursday 11-6, Friday 11-7, and Saturday 10-7
She added that Kevin Ham from the City of Vista Offices was extremely helpful in getting their business up and running and that all the other businesses in this area help one another out by recommending other businesses to people when their business does not have something that “fits the bill”.
Wandering around the shop you will find candles, soaps, grooming items, men’s and women’s wear, caps and hats, spices and seasonings, olive oil, cookbooks, glassware, teas and tea pots, household decorations, salts, honey, purses, animal gifts, and much more including a special Bloody Mary mix. You have got to check out the clever men’s and women’s soaps.
