Oceanside, CA – Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) is proud to announce the winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for California’s 49th Congressional District. Rep. Levin hosted a congratulatory reception for students, parents, and their teachers over the weekend at the Oceanside Museum of Art.
Madeline Morton, a student at San Dieguito Academy, painted the winning piece for 2024, “Encinitas Loves Classic Cars.” As this year’s winner, Madeline will have her art displayed in the U.S. Capitol for all visitors to enjoy, and will join Rep. Levin in Washington, D.C., this June for a reception honoring artists from around the country.
“This year, we received more submissions to the Congressional Art Competition than ever before. I’m consistently blown away by the level of talent among students in our district, and I hope all of them are proud of their work,” said Rep. Levin. “Congratulations to Madeline and her teachers at San Dieguito Academy. Her painting beautifully captures an element of what makes our district so vibrant and special, and I look forward to bringing a slice of home back to the U.S. Capitol.”
