Oceanside, CA – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) released the following statement congratulating the 14 students from California’s 49th congressional district who received official appointments to the United States Military Academy at West Point, United States Naval Academy, United States Air Force Academy, and United States Merchant Marine Academy.
“Receiving an offer of appointment to one of these prestigious and historic institutions is no easy feat, and I am honored to extend my utmost congratulations to 14 spectacular students from California’s 49th district,” said Rep. Mike Levin. “Our nation’s Armed Forces are made up of brave and dedicated young men and women who answer the call of service to defend our great nation. Each of these student’s hard work and dedication shone brightly through their interviews and applications, and I look forward to watching them develop into this country’s next generation of outstanding leaders.”

Every year, Representative Levin may nominate up to ten individuals each to four of our nation’s service academies: The United States Military Academy at West Point, The United States Naval Academy, The United States Air Force Academy, and The United States Merchant Marine Academy. All four highly-ranked, nationally-recognized academies offer young men and women free college tuition, while preparing them for an officer’s commission and service in the armed forces.
