The Boys & Girls Club of Vista extends our deepest sympathies to the family of George Tsoris, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 97. George devoted his life to serving others — from helping inmates earn their GEDs to sharing his love of poetry and music with our Club members. Anyone who met George was touched by his genuine curiosity about people from all walks of life and his thoughtful way of sharing wisdom. A longtime volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club of Vista, George was honored with the 2018 Maytag Dependable Leader Award for his dedicated service. Remarkably, he was also named Athlete of the Year by the Boys Club of Milwaukee in 1945. We celebrate George and all Boys & Girls Club alumni whose lifelong passion and kindness continue to make the world a better place.
