Rotary Club of Vista Military Memorial Wall Expansion Project!!!

The Rotary Club of Vista built the Vista “Military Wall” in 2015 through generous donations from San Diego County ($20,000) and private donors who contributed another $45,000. Rotary is currently in Phase ll of the Military Wall and refers to the expansion. The “Wall” is a beautiful black granite tribute approximately 60′ long x 5′ high, located along Rotary Lane on Vista Village Drive immediately east of Main St. adjacent to the sports field of the Magnet school (former Lincoln Middle School). The City of Vista participates in maintaining the little landscaping presently adjacent to the school. However, over 100 yards remain without any landscaping or improvements. Rotary Club of Vista is planning to rectify this in our current expansion program anticipated to be completed by late spring 2022. Our contractor is Sun Country Builders.

Phase ll will include additional landscaping, security in the form of 2 large lights, short benches for people to sit and enjoy the area as well as individually donated bricks to assist in beautifying the Military Wall.. The entire project is projected to be $72,000. We currently have a $25,000 grant from the County of San Diego and private donations bringing us to approximately $45,000.00 total, leaving a shortage of $27,000. This is where you come in!

Rotary would like to share this opportunity to be part of something that will help beautify Vista for decades to come and for thousands to enjoy. Will you consider joining us in our efforts to raise funds to complete this project? Rotary Club of Vista will be selling 8×8 bricks for $250.00 as well as 12×12 bricks for $500.00. You decide what you would like written on the bricks…3 lines, 18 letters per line. Memorial bricks will be set adjacent to the Wall. Engraving on the wing walls of the black granite memorial are also available.

To participate in this important project please contact us at rotaryclubofvista@gmail.com, Daryl McFarland at dmcfarland@suncountrybuilders.net or Victoria Waufle at (760) 419-8898. Donations are tax deductible and checks may be made payable to the Vista Rotary Foundation a 501 (c) 3, I.D. # 81-3731711.
