S. Santa Fe Avenue Roundabout Construction

The City’s contractor, PAL Construction is working on the final phase of construction to complete the roundabout improvements at the intersection of S. Santa Fe Avenue & Pala Vista Drive. The work is expected to take about four months. A portion of the project will require closure of northbound traffic lanes on S. Santa Fe Avenue between Civic Center Drive and Pala Vista Drive for a period of 6-8 weeks to relocate an existing water line and to complete the road reconfiguration at the roundabout (beginning February 7, 2022). Once the roadway improvements are completed in the detour, the road will reopen, with only intermittent closures necessary. Civic Center Drive has been designated as a detour for northbound through traffic.

Crews are re-routing a large Vista Irrigation Water line around the Pala Vista roundabout during the evening hours. The water line could not be moved during the initial phase of the construction, due to pending right-of-way permissions. After that work is completed, the final construction work will move quickly with the installation of the curb and gutters along the sidewalk and roundabout.
