The quarterly meeting for the San Diego Brewers Guild was held at Booze Brothers Brewing on Tuesday April 30 2019. We spoke to Kris Anacleto with Booze Brothers Brewing Company. This gathering includes brewers in San Diego who are members of the Guild. They get together to talk about the state of craft beer in San Diego, what is coming down the pipeline and what type of events they are showcasing to help continue the Guild.

One hundred eighteen people sent in their RSVP and there is generally 100 or more per meeting. Not every brewery is able to show up every time, but they try to balance locations between North County and South County. They do not do all four quarterly meetings in the same area. Each meeting is held where there is availability at each brewery. The meetings are scheduled and notice is sent out at the beginning of the year to the Guild members.

The main purpose of the San Diego Guild is to help promote the activities of what is going on in the local beer scene, so any independent brewery that is part of the Guild is helped with marketing efforts to highlight their breweries. There is open discussion with the breweries on all the ideas and how they feel about them. The Board of Directors make monthly decisions that will be for the good of the Guild. From there, they will present the ideas to everyone to make sure that everyone is on the same page. This is membership driven and everything depends on the size of the brewery, but anyone who is an independent local brewery is welcome to be a part of the San Diego Brewers Guild.

The San Diego Guild is putting on the Rhythm and Brews Festival in Historic Downtown Vista again this year. Kris Anacleto is Chairing it this year. Kris and his committee are working on the details and he is a Vista local. The Rhythm and Brews and the Guildfest, which is in November, help fund the Guild.

Tickets for the RHYTHM AND BREWS FESTIVAL are still available. VIP tickets are still available but not the day of the event. VIP receives entry 1 hour earlier, is able to hear extra music and receives a plate of food. VIP starts at 12 pm and General Admission starts at 1 pm to 4 pm. General entry is still available now and the day of the event. There will be over fifty breweries at the event.
