Orlando, Florida, December 20, 2024 – The San Diego Clippers (10-5) defeat the Long Island Nets (2-13), 136-88.
The Clippers scored the first 10 points of the game and built a lead as large as 20 points midway through the first quarter. Their tenacious defense held the Long Island Nets to just 16 points on 29% shooting, marking a season low for an opponent in a quarter, and gave the Clippers a 16-point lead heading into the second quarter. Tosan Evbuomwan led all scorers with nine points. At halftime, the Clippers had extended their lead to 20 points, fueled by Trentyn Flowers’ 7 points in the second quarter. The Clippers forced 13 turnovers and shot 50% from three-point range in the first half. Similar to the first quarter, the Clippers sprinted out to start the third, scoring the first 15 points and increasing their lead to 31 midway through the third quarter. The Clippers held a 31-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, with Cam Christie scoring 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. The Clippers defeated the Long Island Nets scoring their second most points this season in their 136-88 victory.
The San Diego Clippers were led by Tosan Evbuomwan’s 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Cam Christie added 23 points, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, along with four rebounds and two steals. Trentyn Flowers contributed 13 points and five rebounds off the bench. RayJ Dennis nearly recorded a triple-double with nine points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. The San Diego Clippers held the Long Island Nets to a season low of 88 points and forced a season high 29 turnovers, which they converted into 39 points. Offensively, the Clippers shot 50% from the field and 42% from three-point range (15-of-36).
The Long Island Nets were led by Patrick Gardner’s 16 points and nine rebounds. Jaylen Martin followed with 15 points.
