The woman drove off before deputies arrived on the scene.

Just before 1:00 p.m., the woman was seen driving on westbound State Route 78. Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station tried initiating a traffic stop near Mar Vista Drive in Vista, but the woman sped off.

The pursuit, which lasted about 10 minutes, ended near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Carlsbad Village Drive in Carlsbad.
