What
In San Marcos, parents, schools, city officials and the Sheriff are launching a new e-bike safety program just in time for the busy winter break.
After Friday’s kick off, “Ride Right E-bike Safety Pop up” events will take place randomly at San Marcos middle and high schools throughout the school year to show a united front when it comes to keeping kids safe.
Parent volunteers, city officials, the school principal, the Sheriff and the Fire Chief will present a united front, urging students to be careful on the roads and reminding parents of new e-bike safety rules in San Marcos.
Volunteers will issue reminders about properly fitting helmets, safety lights and following the rules of the road.
The events are part of a new campaign launched last month to coincide with a new ban on e-bike riders under 12 in San Marcos.
