The San Marcos Community Foundation (SMCF) continues to provide hope and support to essential community services that keep our city and community strong. To date, the Foundation has awarded almost $2 million to 150+ nonprofit organizations. These grants have benefited purposes including arts and culture, children and seniors, civic life, education, health and wildlife.

The SMCF grant program has provided over $250,000 in funding since 2020 to local non-profit organizations including $11,000 most recently to the San Marcos Promise, Bithiah’s Family Services-San Marcos Resource Center, Casa de Amparo, Classics 4 Kids, Senior Veteran Home Solutions, and North County Buckeyes Basketball.

Serving as stewards of a generous one-million-dollar seed endowment since 1988, the San Marcos Community Foundation’s mission is to enrich the quality of life by providing year-round grants to a wide variety of nonprofit groups serving San Marcos residents.

“We are so grateful to the San Marcos Community Foundation for supporting our Transition Preparation Program, ensuring that the youth we serve make smooth transitions into independent living. Thank you SMCF for your support!” Casa de Amparo

“Your contribution played a key role in our ability to support seven San Marcos youth throughout the year with our unique, evidence-based mentorship program. This grant was specifically used to fund one of our Match Support Specialists – a team of nine professionals who work closely with each child, family, and mentor throughout the lifetime of the Match,’ Tina Rose, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.

To strengthen this valuable granting funding source the SMCF has established an online donation platform where interested members of the community can contribute to the Foundation endowment.
