San Marcos, CA – San Marcos is getting back to business. And the City of San Marcos is here to help support local business as they reopen safely and take on the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, the City launched a new COVID-19 Business Economic Recovery Plan that’s loaded with tools and resources to help business owners prepare to reopen when they are ready.
“At the City of San Marcos, the health and safety of our community is our top priority,” said Economic Development Director Tess Sangster. “Our business owners and their employees make up a crucial part of our community. Our goal was to design a straightforward guide to the resources available to help them thrive.”
The COVID-19 Business Economic Recovery Plan provides a comprehensive look at the programs and measures the City has implemented to support our business community. It contains information about business-friendly City policies, including financial assistance programs, support for commercial tenants and collaboration with regional partners.
In addition, the plan highlights continuing development projects and includes a fire and safety checklist for reopening. It also covers communications and marketing tools to help businesses stay up-to-date on the latest information and let customers know that they are committed to following public health and safety guidelines.
“We recognize that San Marcos businesses will need continued support as they navigate the ‘new normal’ brought on by COVID-19,” said City Manager Jack Griffin. “This plan is the latest effort in the City’s long history of providing both business-friendly and citizen-oriented government services. We are here to help all our residents and businesses succeed.”
