San Marcos ‘State of Your Community’ Event Happening May 24

San Marcos residents are invited to attend the ‘State of Your Community,’ a free event featuring Mayor Rebecca Jones, the San Marcos City Council and Dr. Andy Johnsen, Superintendent of San Marcos Unified School District, from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24.

A resource fair and light refreshments will be available for community members starting at 4 p.m. Below is a list of participants for the resource fair.

The resource fair will be followed by a presentation from Johnsen and an address from Mayor Jones at 4 p.m. at the Community Center Main Hall, 3 Civic Center Drive, San Marcos. During her address, Jones will cover important moments of the past year, specifically centering on topics including: the City’s ‘spirit of service,’ community safety, quality of life, supporting local businesses, the importance of community input, healthcare and education and infrastructure and mobility.

Jones will also share the ‘State of Your Community’ speech at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s ‘State of the City’ annual business breakfast on Wednesday, May 31. Registration, networking and the breakfast buffet will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 8:15 a.m. State of the City is a paid breakfast event occurring at the California State University San Marcos in the University Student Union Ballroom. To register in advance, please visit the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce website. Advance registration is recommended as seating is limited, public seating will also be available.
