This morning, the City Council participated in the groundbreaking of the Santa Fe Senior Village project on North Santa Fe Avenue near the Vista Transit Center. This development will provide 54 fully furnished studio and one-bedroom apartment homes for seniors ages 62 and over who are unhoused or at risk of becoming unhoused. Two of these homes will be set aside for unhoused senior veterans.
Construction, expected to take about a year, will transform the once-vacant plot of land into a transit-oriented community, making mobility options throughout the northern San Diego region more accessible.
Hope through Housing Foundation, County of San Diego Behavioral Health, San Diego’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, and the Veterans Administration will provide onsite supportive services to help residents maintain housing stability.
