On November 13, 2019 at about 10:40 am, deputies responded to Bonsall High School located at 7350 West Lilac Road to investigate information that was received by school officials that a male student possibly had a firearm on campus. Further information was obtained that the suspect had made specific threats to commit a shooting at a planned school event in the near future. These threats were substantiated through the investigation and after interviewing the suspect. The suspect was placed into Sheriff’s custody and all known firearms were removed from the residence as a precaution. No firearms or other weapons were found on the suspect or on campus. The investigation was extremely thorough and continued into the following day.
A second student had been identified as possibly being involved but after investigating these claims today, they were unfounded. There is no credible information that any other students are involved.
The Sheriff’s Department and the Bonsall School District take any threats made to be very serious and will investigate any threat entirely.
