The Carlsbad Village Association is happy to have the market back in the Village on Wednesdays from 3pm to 7pm and we thank you for following the new rules and embracing the new format. We now have 33 vendors back at the market while still adhering to social distancing guidelines and best practices for everyone’s safety. Here are some key guidelines to make your shopping as quick, efficient, and safe as possible:

>> If you are feeling ill in any way, please stay home
>> Face masks are required for entry; adhere to 6ft of physical distancing
>> One adult shopper per household; kids under direct supervision
>> Simply point to the product and your farmer/vendor will bag it for you
>> Service dogs allowed; please keep family pets at home if possible

The more people we can move through the market safely and quickly the more beneficial it is for each vendor and customer. If you can shop without the kids, that is even better for this new format! We are doing our best in these new times and thank you for helping us as we bring you high quality, local food. CVA Member Profile: SNYDER ART AND DESIGN

Since 2008, Bryan Snyder of Snyder Art and Design has been synonymous with the “Village.” But Bryan’s ties to the Village go back much farther than that with both his parents and his wife’s parents graduating from Carlsbad High School and even getting married in the Village. And Bryan has lived nearly all of his 39 years in the Village, except for his college years in Northern California studying digital art with an emphasis in multi-media from Cal State East Bay.
Art has been his passion ever since the third grade when a professional artist visited Magnolia Elementary and ignited a fire in him. And the flame behind his talent has helped create about two dozen of his own murals that have graced the exterior building walls throughput the Village with at least six or seven still able to be enjoyed today. He painted his first “Doodle” image on a State Street business a decade ago. In March of 2015, Bryan curated the Carlsbad Art Wall, a public art exhibit on the exterior wall of Senor Grubby’s on Carlsbad Village Drive that enables local and regional artists to create a new image every two to three months. There have been a total of 24 art murals since its inception.
Bryan is now working on a new project truly designed for the father of two young children. He is one of eight finalists vying for the coveted position of having their artwork installed at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum in Escondido. His mural design titled “Together, We Play” represents hope, community, and tomorrow’s joyful act of play, especially when it’s done together. You can vote every 24 hours here and help keep Doodle going strong.
