Carlsbad, California, The second annual Older & Bolder Expo, sponsored by the City of Carlsbad in conjunction with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 9, 2023, at the Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Avenue, Carlsbad.
The free event will feature a lineup of expert speakers addressing topics ranging from financial planning and reverse mortgages, navigating senior care options, healthcare plans and PACE to depression and isolation among seniors.
Dozens of exhibitors from health-related companies, nonprofits and senior service providers will offer the latest information, products and essential tips on aging successfully.
Planning for the future also includes caring for parents and/or grandparents. According to the National Council on Aging, approximately 40 million Americans provide unpaid care to older adults and adults with disabilities—the majority of whom also juggle a job or other responsibilities. A goal of the Expo is to provide helpful information and connections for caregivers.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Website states it is expected that there will be 71 million people aged 65 years old and older when all baby boomers are at least 65 years old in 2030. Planning for future care becomes even more imperative because the number of older adults needing help and services is quickly growing.
The Older & Bolder Expo exhibit space is nearly filled. Companies interested in registering as an exhibitor, please go to: https://web.carlsbad.org/events/Older-Bolder-EXPO-3256/details.
