SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Blake Seits of the Cal State San Marcos men’s basketball team was named to the 2020-21 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District first team on Thursday.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Majoring in Business Administration with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.79, Seits was one of five student-athletes to earn the honor from District 8, which is composed of the California Collegiate Athletic Association, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the PacWest Conference. He was also the only selection from the CCAA.
Based on career statistics, Seits has tallied 13.7 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, 80 three-point field goals and a three-point field-goal percentage of 41.5% in 28 games played. In 2019-20, the Ramona native was named an All-CCAA honorable mention and was named a Star of the Month by the San Diego Sports Association. Seits was also named to the CCAA All-Academic Team.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late May.
