San Diego, CA – San Marcos Councilmember and Senate Candidate Ed Musgrove announces he has received the endorsement of Senate Minority Leader Brian W. Jones who currently represents Senate District 40.

Brian W. Jones is a proven leader with a track record of serving San Diego at every level of government, first as a Santee City Councilmember, California State Assemblymember, and now as a California State Senate Minority Leader. He proudly represents Senate District 40, which includes Northern and Eastern San Diego County as well as various communities within the City of San Diego.

In his endorsement, Leader Jones praised Councilmember Musgrove’s efforts on the San Marcos City Council, creating a thriving city based on safety, opportunity, and balance:

“Ed will bring that same success to Sacramento, restoring balance in our State Legislature and bringing common-sense policies to all of San Diego,” said Leader Jones.

“I met Ed 15 years ago when he was serving as the Santee Sheriff’s Captain. He lowered crime rates in our city and protected our community and businesses. Now as a San Marcos City Councilmember, Ed has continued to prioritize safety, local control, balanced budgets, and strong education and economic opportunities. He will bring these same policies to Sacramento, transforming a broken system into one that serves its communities,” concluded Leader Jones.

As a San Diego native, Ed has dedicated his life to serving our County. He is an Army Veteran, Retired Sheriff’s Captain, Elected City Councilmember, and has served on transportation, veteran advisory, and local planning boards.

“I have seen our County change in the past two decades. Local control has decreased with more power and funding being rerouted to state entities while our communities suffer. It’s time for change. It’s time to bring balance back to California,” said Councilmember Musgrove.

Proud Army Veteran, Retired Sheriff’s Captain, and City Councilmember, Ed Musgrove resides in San Marcos with his wife and two daughters.
