The City of Carlsbad’s Parks & Recreation Department is reminding residents looking for a year-end charitable tax deduction to consider giving to the Opportunity Grants program.

The City of Carlsbad Opportunity Grants program gives low-income families in Carlsbad the chance to be involved in adult and youth classes and camps that would otherwise be financially out of reach.
The program is made possible by generous donations of residents and community members, who can sponsor a year of programs for low-income families for just $300.
Opportunity grants are awarded to families who are residents of Carlsbad, meet income eligibility requirements and complete a grant application with supporting documentation.
