Serious Injury Hit and Run Collision – Vista

On December 21, 2019, at approximately 8:06 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies and fire personnel responded to a serious injury, hit and run collision on North Melrose Drive, near the intersection of West Vista Way, in the city of Vista. Based on the preliminary investigation, it was determined that a solo motorcyclist was traveling northbound on N. Melrose Drive, when the driver of a white Ford Explorer made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The driver of the Ford immediately fled the scene on foot. After an extensive search of the area, the driver was not located. The registered owner of the Ford was contacted and is not believed to be the driver. The suspect was described as a male with dark complexion in his 30’s, 6 foot tall with a slender build. The suspect had short hair and a dark colored beard, approximately 4″ in length. The 33 year old female motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Palomar Medical Center.
