CARLSBAD, Calif. – On Nov. 18th at 6:08 p.m., Officers from the Carlsbad Police Department responded to the 7100 block of Corintia Street for a report of a single vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers located a silver Mercedes CLS 55 that had collided into a tree and an unconscious male occupant. Preliminary reports advise that a male driving the Mercedes at a high rate of speed, hit a curb and lost control of the vehicle, ultimately crashing into a tree.
The driver of the Mercedes has been identified as a 47 year-old male out of Carlsbad. The male was transported to a local area hospital for severe injuries. It is unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
