CARSLBAD-Calif. – The City of Carlsbad Police Department continues to actively investigate the bicycle collision that occurred on Feb. 11, at 1:16 p.m., in the 2700 block of El Camino Real.
At this time, based on evidence and witness statements, accident investigators do not believe the collision was caused by an associated vehicle or was a hit and run.
Investigators are still seeking any additional witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Department.

Officers seek witnesses to a serious injury traffic collision
CARSLBAD-Calif. – On February 11, at 1:16 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department was called to the 2700 block of El Camino Real due to a traffic collision.
On arrival, officers found a 74-year-old, male bicyclist unconscious in the north bound lanes of El Camino Real just south of Hosp Way. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision.
Neither drugs nor alcohol are considered to be a factor in the collision.
Police Department investigators are seeking witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Department.
The identity of the injured cyclist is being withheld pending notification of family.
