SAN MARCOS — A new app to help sexual assault victims navigate and connect with resources is launching the next several weeks.

Here4U, a nonprofit operated by Maggie Slater, who also founded San Marcos-based Aliferous Technology, helps victims find the best path forward after surviving an assault or rape. The user answers a series of non-invasive questions, which then assists them into making more informed choices regarding pursuing justice and seeking care, Slater said.

The app will launch countywide and Here4U granted $10,000 from San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, she said. Also, the app will launch on the campus of the University of Southern California in March as college-aged students, especially women, are a target demographic.
